National Fun ‘Santa Dash’
College Netball, Football and Rugby students joined in the National Fun Santa
Dash during their Pe lessons.
In December the students, wearing their Christmas jumpers and hats, took time
out from their Pe lessons to join in with the ’Santa Dash’ organised by
Jeanette green, the local School games organiser. They joined thousands of
other young people across the country who were all also taking part.
Jeanette said, “As the School games organiser for South hams and West
Devon, and a member of staff at Ivybridge Community College, it is fantastic
to see students from the College joining thousands of schools from across the
country in the School games National Santa Dash 2020.
This year has seen unprecedented change to all our lives and I hope that by
students joining in this National Santa Dash it will provide some fun and light-
hearted exercise whilst wearing their Christmas hats and jumpers.”
Football Academy Fundraising Challenge
Football Academy students and staff took on a lockdown fundraising challenge to raise money for Cancer
Research UK. Throughout February, they aimed to travel to all 92 Football league Stadiums, starting at
Plymouth Argyle’s home Park, before finishing at hull City’s ground on Sunday, 28 February. This ’virtual’ journey
would see them, if successful, travel by walking, running or cycling over 4375km in order to reach their target
distance.
The Academy did successfully travel the required
distance in February, but would still like your help to
raise even more money for Cancer Research UK by
visiting their Justgiving page -

head of Football, Mr leonard, said, “We set a
challenge to our Football Academy students to
maintain their physical fitness; giving them a
challenging activity in order to continue their focus
during this lockdown. It makes it even better that we
are able to do it for an amazing charity, who do so
much for everyone suffering with cancer. Your
support will be much appreciated!”
