the Application Process

this is an important time for all students; you are making life-changing decisions about the next stage in
your learning. Whether you are applying from Ivybridge community college or from another school, we
are here to support and guide you through this process.

External students are invited to make appointments to visit the sixth Form and see what opportunities
are on offer at Ivybridge.

Application timeline Applications to be returned by the published deadline to the sixth
Form office.
January
January/February/March You will be invited to a bespoke interview with one of the sixth Form
team who will talk through your application and programme of study
July with you to ensure that you have made choices that are right for you.
August You will be offered support, advice and guidance about your chosen
courses and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you
september might have.

Post-Gcse examinations Induction Day where you will have taster
sessions in your chosen courses, collect summer work and meet the
sixth Form team, including your tutor.
There will also be an Information Evening for Parents.

Gcse results day. the sixth Form team will be available all day and the
days following results to offer advice, guidance and support in light of
Gcse results. Your programme of study is finalised, and we enrol you
onto your courses. there will also be a day of induction activities which
students are expected to attend
