the Application Process

this is an important time for all students; you are making key decisions about the next stage in your
learning. Whether you are applying from Ivybridge community college or from another school, we are
here to support and guide you through this process.
Prospective students who are currently at another school or college are invited to contact the college
for further information and a chat with one of the team. Due to the current national pandemic, we are
unable to offer open Mornings; however, virtual tours of campus can be accessed via our website.

Application timeline
January Applications to be completed online by the published deadline.

January/February/March You will be invited to a bespoke interview with one of the sixth Form
team who will talk through your application and programme of study
with you to ensure that you have made choices that are right for you.
You will be offered support, advice and guidance about your chosen
courses and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you
might have.
What next?
July Post-Gcse examinations Induction Day where you will have taster
sessions in your chosen courses, collect summer work and meet the
sixth Form team, including your tutor.
There will also be an Information Evening for Parents.

August Gcse results day. the sixth Form team will be available all day and the
days following results to offer advice, guidance and support in light of
Gcse results. Your programme of study is finalised, and we enrol you
onto your courses. there will also be a day of induction activities which
students are expected to attend
september Welcome to Ivybridge sixth Form. this is when your courses start.
