Actor and Author Discusses Anti – Bullying
Core Value Characteristics
on Thursday, 21 November Years 7 and 8 were wowed by a drama
monologue from the prestigious actor and author Robert higgs. his award
winning presentation was moving and certainly had a great impact upon our
students. Rob gave a powerful performance and then discussed practical
ways of dealing with difficult situations, including those where the child/
person feels bullied. These were illustrated through role play, and through
clips of celebrities standing up to bullies.
Robert began his work after experiencing bullying himself at school. he is
now the author of two books on bullying, ‘What have I ever Done To You?’
and ‘Matty Doyle's Monster’ and has spoken about his experiences in various
media, including Radio 1 and 2, Sky News, BBC Breakfast, BBC 7 and Martial
Arts Illustrated.

Workshops Aimed at Preventing Violence
Ivybridge Community College was delighted that all Year groups
have had an opportunity to watch a presentation from the Stand
Against Violence group.
The aim of the charity is to prevent violence, its long term
consequences and the grief of losing loved ones by delivering
violence prevention workshops with young people. Stand Against
Violence was set up following the tragic murder of 17 year old
lloyd Fouracre and the students listened intently throughout.
