The College Swim Teams competed in the regional championships in
September. All the teams did fantastically well out of 260 schools
nationally, finishing in the top 80 in the Junior girls’ and Boys’catagory
and Intermediate girls’ and Boys catagory.
The stars of the competition were the girls’ Intermediate A Team who
qualified for the eSSA Schools National Finals in November at The Aquatic
Centre, home of the olympics in london. The girls qualified in both relay
categories of Medley and Freestyle.
In November the team travelled to london with an early start ready for
competition. The Championships was an amazing experience for all of
the students and such an accolade to compete against the best schools
in the country and being one of only three comprehensive schools at the finals. The students were amazing and
so professional in their attitude, the hours of early morning training were evident, and the girls came a fabulous
24th and 25th in their category, improving on their qualifying position. A massive congratulations to the team
they were a real credit to the College. Ambition
