Ivybridge Acrobats Claim 14 Places on South West Team
A day of podium positions in the regional qualifiers resulted in Ivybridge Gymnastics Academy Gymnasts
claiming 14 spots at the National Schools Acrobatic Gymnastics Finals. The gymnasts will now travel to
Stoke-on-Trent in May to compete against the best from 12 other UK regions.
Among the many successes, the three top performing Gymnasts of the day were Reece, in Year 12, and
Alfie and Abigail, both in Year 10, all returning with three Gold medals.
“These three gymnasts performed exceptionally well. They will be very busy at the National Finals, having also
qualified for the Floor and Vault finals which take place on the same weekend. However, we also had many
more high-quality performances from Ivybridge students, providing us with an excellent opportunity to gain
medals on the national stage in May,” said Helen Reddy.
