Top Honours at South West Floor and Vault Prelims
Ivybridge Gymnastics Academy Gymnasts took top
honours at the South West Floor and Vault Prelims in
Bideford, bringing back ten Gold, eight Silver and four
Bronze medals.
The results mean that 33 Gymnasts have qualified to
represent the region at the National Schools’ Floor
and Vault Finals in Stoke-on-Trent in May, including
many Gymnasts from WeST primary schools.
“We took a huge team to the regional qualifiers,”
said Helen Reddy, Head of Performing Arts and
Head of the Gymnastics Academy, “showing not
only our strength-in-depth but also some
exceptional individual performances.”
“Schools gymnastics is becoming more
competitive each year, as many schools are
affiliated to high-ranking gymnastics clubs,” added Helen, “but we have shown
that by working on the core skills and keeping gymnastics enjoyable we can
produce exceptional results that challenge the very best in the county.”
