“When I first started the College I had a lot of
worries about how it would be like, if I would make friends,
and if I was going to get lost. however, after my first week
I was completely free of my insecurities and I am now
confident finding my way around.
I have made new friends by trying to talk to people
that I did not already know.
My College life has been so different to what I thought it
would be when I first started.”

“We could not be more proud with how well our Year 7 students
have transitioned into the College.
They have truly shown the Character Virtues of Resilience and
Courage in their transition to Ivybridge Community College.” 11

“I have enjoyed everything about
College life so far, but my favourite parts are
the lessons. We are able to be more independent
and free with how we learn things in secondary school
and we can be more inventive and authentic.
Furthermore, we have other things that have helped me
settle in, like the one-way system and timetables
(which help me know where I am going).
I’ve made a few friends through my Tutor group,
and a few outside College.
I think I personally have adapted to College life well.
I have grown used to it nicely, better than I expected.
I hope that other students feel the same way.”

"The transition to Ivybridge Community College
for me was very bizarre and outlandish, and I found
myself almost intimidated by well, everything!
The enormous size of the College and tough measures in
place because of CoVID-19 were bewildering to me who
was used to a small Primary School.
however, I did find myself getting used to all this
and I really settled in nicely.
It did not take long to start to get a hang of everything
and I think this College is excellent and is dealing with CoVID-19
in an incredibly efficient manner.”
