Netball Academy Kit Sponsorship
College Netball has started the year with a boost from local business, David May Motor Services.
David May have sponsored the 2018/19 Netball Academy, which has not only allowed them to buy new kit, but
also to enter the ‘Sisters in Sport’ Netball National Cup for all year groups. the College has also entered the
National Schools Competition in all three age groups, U14, U16 and U19, organised by england Netball.
the new netball dresses and kit for our Netball Academy students has allowed them to look the part and take to
the court in style.
Ivybridge Community College have over 50 students accessing the Netball Academy programme this year,
allowing students to access extra training during both curriculum and extra curriculum time. We are very proud
of the students’ achievements so far this year and are excited about the forthcoming year.
College Swimming teams Celebrate great Results
On Saturday, 17 November, the College Swimming Teams travelled to The Olympic Aquatic Centre in London to
compete in the English Schools Relay Swimming Championships, following a very successful qualification round.
the fastest qualifying schools from the country competed in the age group events. the Junior Boys’ and girls’
Swim teams both qualified in the Freestyle and Medley which was an amazing achievement.
the teams had some great results, most notably the girls’ Medley, who finished in 12th place.
Congratulations to all the Year 8 swimmers who represented the College on the biggest stage in the country.

tennis Success for lizzie goalkeeping in
Real Madrid
Year 9 student, Lizzie Warrender, has achieved fantastic
progress in her tennis this season. Year 11 student, Jim Weeks, had
At the County Championship lizzie managed to reach the most amazing opportunity

lizzie came 3rd at Bath University in a grade 4
tournament in the 14 and Under girls’ category, and
most recently won the Bridgewater grade 5
tournament in the 14 and Under girls’ category.
As a result of the County Championships she has been selected for the
Devon County Squad and now trains regularly at exeter University with the
Devon Squad.
