Dress code in the Sixth Form
The College demands a high standard of appearance and dress, and all students are
required to meet the requirements of our dress code.**
Students are expected to remember that the College is a place of work and therefore must present
themselves in the appropriate way, which comprises smart casual wear suitable for the work place.
For safeguarding reasons, Sixth Form students are required to wear their College lanyard and ID
badge at all times when in College. On the rare occasions that a student forgets their lanyard,
they must sign in at Reception and wear a visitor badge for the duration of the day whilst in College.
Some general guidance:
• Skirts and shorts must abide by the‘fingertip’ rule in terms of length
• Ripped jeans must not be worn
• No leggings or cycling shorts
• No crop tops
• No flip flops or backless shoes as they pose a health and safety risk
• No visible facial piercings, however, clear retainers or a discreet stud may be worn in the nose
• Hats and caps must not be worn in lessons
• Hairstyles - No extreme cuts or extreme unnatural colours
Unfortunately, any student failing to meet these expectations after a single reminder will be asked to
go home and change into something more appropriate for College. Repeated failure to meet
these expectations may lead to a Formal Warning being issued.
