Isolation Room

The purpose of this room is to provide a consequence for those students who have not met the
College Expectations. The incidents that will lead to the use of this room as a consequence will
range from medium to high level incidents. It will be an opportunity to reflect upon their actions and
to know what is expected in the future, and to understand that their actions have a consequence.

Isolation Room Expectations A period of ‘reflection’will take place at a
suitable time during the day with the support
1. Examination style conditions - silence is of a member of staff.
maintained at all times:

a. Coat off
b. Sit up
c. Mobile phone turned off and
handed in at the start - returned at
the end or placed in their bag
d. Equipment out on the desk

2. No opt out - complete work as directed

3. Follow staff instructions first time
4. Focus on your own work

Reset Room

This room has been implemented to replace the Subject Department parking system. The purpose
of this room is to provide those students who have not met the Classroom Expectations with an
opportunity to reflect and ‘Reset’ to enable them to return to their lessons at a later point to
continue their learning.
This room will also be an opportunity to ensure that low level disruption does not affect the learning
of others in the classroom.

Reset Room Expectations Failure to meet the Expectations in the Reset
