    Students Prepare Delicious Dishes

                               The Choux Pastry Challenge

                                                 Students in Year 9 held an end of module ‘Choux
                                                   Pastry Challenge’ competition. This term they have
                                                    been studying foods from countries and regions

                                                     around the world, from Asian to Greek.
                                                      The final country was France and for this the
                                                        students mastered the tricky art of Choux

                                                          pastry-making, namely eclairs.
                                                           Miss Martin judged the competition and the first
                                                            place winner was Sophie.

                                              Afternoon Tea Delights

        This term, Year 10 students have been researching different types of raising agents, for example, chemical,
        biological and mechanical. They then planned afternoon tea dishes of 4 to 6 items using a variety of raising
        agents. They baked during 2 lessons and then finalised and decorated their afternoon teas during a third lesson.
