Sustainability Club Tutor Fancy Dress Competition
Presentation
Visiting Author,Tanya Landman and Mr Michael Saltern, helped
to judge the KS3 Fancy Dress Competition for World Book Day.
Each tutor group had chosen
a book theme to dress up as.
Mr Hitt’s tutor won in Year 7 as
characters from Alice in
Wonderland. Once again,
Mrs Snodin’s tutor in Year 8
wowed the judges with their
brightly coloured creations
from Truffala Valley from
Dr Seuss’s environmentally
relevant The Lorax.
Tree Planting Ceremony
Following a presentation to a number of Governors by Staff, students, their parents and Mr Michael
members of The Sustainability Club, Mr Michael Saltern Saltern, Chair of the Governing Board, recently
said,”The Governing Board is absolutely committed to participated in the ‘Tree and Wild Bulb’ planting
environmental improvements within the College and ceremony. The College is very
indeed in helping bring about wider achievements proud to have been part of the

Pen Portrait - Richard Peachey
Richard grew up in Modbury and has lived or worked in Ivybridge itself for
over 30 years. He has lived in South Devon all his life and understands the
smaller towns and villages as well as the Plymouth area that feed into
Ivybridge Community College.
Richard has been part of, and chaired, a number of Ivybridge Community
Groups such as the the Ivybridge Regeneration Group and Chamber of
Commerce.
He has a Business Degree and owns and operates a Commercial Property
Business from Ivybridge for over 25 years. Richard enjoys travel, exploring
and sport. Having an interest in Geography and History he finds travelling
exciting and educational.
Richard's Governor areas include the Teaching School and Teacher
development as well as Pupil Premium and disadvantaged children.
